Wein trifft Stadt: Regional Wine Culture Meets Modern Web Tech
I recently developed and designed Wein trifft Stadt, a website for a unique Freiburg-based wine tasting experience that combines regional wine culture with local history. The platform showcases various wine tasting events at historic locations throughout the city.
Technical Stack
The site is built with Nuxt.js, leveraging its server-side rendering capabilities for optimal SEO performance and fast initial page loads—crucial for attracting local wine enthusiasts searching for experiences in Freiburg. Nuxt's file-based routing made it simple to structure the content hierarchy, while its automatic code-splitting ensures visitors only load what they need.
For content management, I integrated Storyblok CMS, a headless CMS that provides the client with an intuitive visual editor. This allows them to update event details, add new wine tasting experiences, and manage content independently without touching code. Storyblok's component-based approach aligns perfectly with Nuxt's component architecture, creating a seamless development experience.
Design Approach
The design reflects the brand's essence: where tradition meets contemporary urban culture. Clean typography and generous whitespace let the wine and historical content breathe, while the layout guides visitors naturally through the booking journey.
Result
